In Brief:

This shield (compatible with the Arduino Uno, Pro, and Mega boards) allows you to connect up to four vision chip breakouts to an Arduino. Use provided example code to create your own custom application!

NOTE: This product is currently not in stock. However YOU DO NOT NEED  the ArduEye Rocket Shield in order to use the ArduEye libraries. Instead, simply make the following connections between your Arduino and the Stonyman breakout board:

D8=RESP, D7=INCP, D6=RESV, D5=INCV, D4=PHI, ANALOG=A0, and of course the power rails GND=0V and VDD=5V

Features:

  • Base Shield with space for up to four vision chip breakouts
  • External 12-bit, 100 ksps ADC included
  • Select between the external ADC and internal ADC on Arduino
  • Compatible with the Arduino UNO, PRO, and MEGA
  • Instructions, Example Code, and GUI included at www.ardueye.com

Detailed Description

The ArduEye Project is our attempt to create a simple but powerful open source vision sensor. What better way to start then to interface our vision chips to the popular Arduino?

This shield plugs directly into an Arduino Uno, Pro, or Mega. Up to four of our Vision Chip Breakouts can then be connected on top to either the internal ADC on the Arduino or the included external ADC. With an Arduino, the ArduEye Rocket Shield, and a Vision Chip Breakout, you then have access to all of our example code on our ArduEye Project wiki. Make a motion detector, a laser range finder, or an optical flow sensor. The ArduEye Rocket Shield makes it easy to quickly prototype various visual sensing applications.

The video below demonstrates the ArduEye Rocket Shield and a Stonyman Vision Chip Breakout being used to track lights and calculate 1D and 2D optical flow. This code is available on the ArduEye wiki page.
